Dog Training Mistakes – The Top 3 Worse Mistakes You Can Make While Training Your Dog

If you own a dog you will agree with me that sometimes it will be difficult to deal with your furry friend. However, with patience and proper training, your dog can start behaving the way you wanted him to.

Prior before you start training your dog, you will make several common mistakes that many people out there makes when they began training their dog. I will start over the top 3 most common mistakes, so let’s begin.

1. “Punishing” your dog whenever you call on Him should be the habit that you need to put out in the cause of training. What I’m saying is doing something to him that he doesn’t like or enjoy. For example, clipping his nails it’s not a good idea when you call your dog. Don’t make it a habit of tying your dog when you call on him. Make sure you occasionally call your dog just to talk to him in a cheerful voice, pet him, and tell him what a good dog he is. You don’t want him to always associate bad things when you call for him, or he won’t want to continue coming when you call!

2. Your dog can’t out grow it bad behavior. If you are thinking that it will out grow it, He won’t. So, make a point to teach him what is and what is not appropriate in his behavior.

3. Make it a point not to ever hit your dog or cause him physical pain as method of giving him training. This will only make your dog aggressive, or a submissive wetter. It’s always more effective to reward your dog for good behavior instead of punishing him. After all, your dog’s goal is to please you and make you happy. So, appreciate it’s good work and give him some reward.
